The evolving COVID-19 situation has affected Singaporeans from all walks of life, including individuals who are facing loss of income or families that are struggling with additional caregiving duties and upkeeping expenses for essential items.
The Courage Fund was first established in 2003, when Singapore was hit by the SARS outbreak. Fellow Singaporeans donated generously to the Fund to support those who were affected by the outbreak. In 2020, in this same spirit of uniting the community to support one another through difficult times, Community Chest rallied the community to provide relief and support to those affected by the COVID-19 situation.
Helping those in need with your donations
Donations* will go towards supporting and providing relief to vulnerable individuals and families, including healthcare workers, frontline workers and volunteers, affected by the COVID-19 situation. Find out more about The Courage Fund COVID-19 Relief Schemes and their eligibility criteria here.
Other Forms of Support to Social Service Agencies
Since the start of the pandemic, the National Council of Social Service (NCSS) has also facilitated in-kind donations of essential supplies, such as masks, sanitisers and thermometers, to support the social service agencies.
Beyond NCSS, other parts of the community have also stepped forward to help those in need, including students, volunteers as well as workers in the healthcare, transport and unions, all of whom are working to keep Singapore running.

Impact of your donations
We would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to all supporters for your generous contributions. Together, we can enable vulnerable individuals and families to stay resilient in the face of the evolving COVID-19 situation.
Thank you for your contributions to The Courage Fund in 2020. As social needs become increasingly complex and varied, we hope to continue to have your support, so that Community Chest’s funded programmes and service users can receive the help they need to tackle challenges ahead.
100% of your contributions will go towards funding more than 100 social service agencies, allowing them to focus on caring for groups like adults with disabilities, children with special needs and youth-at-risk, persons with mental health conditions and families and seniors in need of support through over 200 critical services.
