Youth Day Appeal

Where youths rally around communities in need

As Singapore celebrates 60 years of progress, we look ahead to a future where every dream can take flight. Since its inception in 1984, the Youth Day Appeal has been a meaningful platform for students to embrace the spirit of giving and grow into compassionate, community-minded individuals. This year, as part of SG60, Youth Day Appeal continues to play an important role in rallying our youth to give back and shape a caring, inclusive society for generations to come.

Aligned with the Ministry of Education’s Values-in-Action Programme, this initiative nurtures empathy, respect, and the belief that everyone - especially those from communities in need - deserves the opportunity to thrive. In celebration of SG60, every donation to Youth Day Appeal 2025 will unlock support through the SG Gives matching grant, amplifying students’ efforts and making each act of kindness go even further.

Who We Support – Meet Md Ilhan Bin Md Hidayah!

Image of youth smiling

Our youth are defined by their uniqueness. So are our service users.

Meet Ilhan, a resilient youth who found new purpose through YMCA's VaSSP programme, supported by Community Chest. Once struggling in school and facing expulsion, Ilhan discovered hope through barista training and life skills support. With encouragement from his trainers, he completed the course and now works full-time, aspiring to run his own café. He likens his past to bitter black coffee, and his present to a balanced latte.

Help more youths like Ilhan believe in their future. Support their journey today.

100% of funds raised through Youth Day Appeal go towards empowering the lives of adults with disabilities, children with special needs and youth-at-risk, families in need of assistance, persons with mental health conditions and seniors in need of support.

Our school tour is dedicated to raising awareness and inspiring youth to take action for those in need. Students will hear from passionate individuals who are leading change in their communities and learn how they can make a difference.

River Valley High School

River Valley High School

River Valley High School has had a longstanding partnership with Youth Day Appeal. Through the collaboration, our students are motivated to give in monetary donations or volunteering work to the less privileged communities.

We appreciate Youth Day Appeal's approach, which is well aligned with our school’s direction, in developing our students to be concerned citizens and future leaders who are active contributors to the community.

It is especially meaningful that our students are provided the opportunities to learn about and better empathise with Community Chest service users from various community groups in Singapore. We look forward to a sustained partnership with Youth Day Appeal!

Dunman High School

Duman High School

Youth Day Appeal resonates with Dunman High School’s mission of Care, Serve and Lead.

The school inculcates in all Dunmanians the importance of showing care for the community, serving to better the lives of others, and in time exercise leadership as community changemakers.

Complementary to our school’s Values In Action efforts, we believe that Youth Day Appeal nurtures socially responsible students who are able to contribute meaningfully to the community.

We see that Youth Day Appeal brings out the best in our Dunmanians in the spirit of giving and sharing.

Victoria School

Victoria School is grateful to the Community Chest for the opportunity to take part in the Youth Day Appeal. This initiative gave our students the chance to learn about empathy and the importance of giving back to the community.

The resources provided for the donation drive helped students learn about the challenges faced by vulnerable groups in Singapore. They also helped them to understand how collectively, donations could make a difference to the lives of the beneficiaries.

Such sharing made the cause real and meaningful, adding value to our students’ character education.
