  1. Which social service agencies are eligible for the SHARE as One grant?

    Social service agencies that are NCSS members with IPC status and running social service programmes may wish to apply for the SHARE as One grant.

  2. Is there a cap on the grant eligible to each social service agency?

    There is a cap of $10,000 per organisation, for the duration of SHARE as One programme till 31 March 2028.

  3. Can the organisation use the grant to support fund-raising costs?

    SHARE as One aims to create more volunteering opportunities as part of corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts. Hence, the matching grant seeks to create or enhance volunteering platforms.
     

  4. What are some of the approved activities supported by the SHARE as One grant?

    The SHARE as One matching grant has supported activities in the following categories:

    • Volunteer training – up-skilling of volunteers through training

    • Volunteer-led or Volunteer-supported social service programmes e.g. volunteers giving free tuition services for children from low-income families

    • Skills-based volunteering e.g. pro-bono contribution of professional skills and knowledge to the charity

    • Ad-hoc volunteering activities e.g. volunteers bringing service users for a visit to a park

    • Volunteer engagement – initiatives to engage and motivate volunteers e.g. recruitment drives, appreciation events

    • Volunteer capacity and capability building – building of resources to better manage volunteers e.g. production of volunteer handbook, volunteer management system
       

  5. Upon receiving the grant call approval, when must the social service agency complete the activity?

    Social service agencies have up to 31 March 2028 to conduct their activities.
     

  6. Is there a minimum claim amount for the grant submission?

    The minimum claim amount for each grant submission is $500. There are two grant claim submission windows annually – April and October.
     

  7. Are there any deadline for the submission of the grant claim submission?

    There are two grant claim submission windows annually – April and October. All submissions must be received in hard copies before the end of that month. Applications received after the deadline would be reviewed at the grant window.
     

  8. Is there a time limit on when I can submit my claim after conducting the volunteer capability and capacity building activity or initiative?

    You can submit your claim up to 12 months after the date of the volunteer capability and capacity building activity or initiative. For example, an approved volunteer capability activity conducted in March 2017 can be submitted for grant claim up to February 2018 (you can choose to submit during the April 2017 or October 2017 grant call).
     

  9. What are the documents required for grant claim submission?

    Please ensure that claims are aligned with the approved activities and grant amount. The claim should be made within one year of the expenditure.

    SSAs are required to retain the original hardcopy for a period of 16 months and to submit (when requested) for audit purposes. ComChest reserves the right to recover any disbursed claim if found to be fraudulent.

  10. Some of the expenses incurred for the CSR activities do not have receipts? How do we submit for disbursement?

    As these expenses would have been paid by the staff, you may submit the reimbursement documents as proof of payment for the expenses.
     

  11. Why does it take 3 months to process the grant claim?

    To ensure due diligence in the verification process, we require time to check the approved CSR activities and claim amount. Grant claim submissions which missed the deadline will be submitted automatically at the next grant call. For example, if your submission is in November, it will be considered as a submission for the April grant call.
     

  12. Are overseas volunteer capability and capacity building activities and initiatives supported by the grant?

    No. Only activities and initiatives conducted locally will be supported. This is to ensure that the local corporates and community benefit from the activities and initiatives supported by the SHARE as One grant.
