Mr Chew Sutat has been appointed as the new Chairman of Community Chest, with effect from 1 August 2022. Previously, he held the position of Vice-Chairman, Community Chest since 2020. He has also served on the National Council of Social Service (NCSS) Services Committee since 2020 and Community Chest Committee since 2019.

Mr Chew was the former Executive Vice President and Senior Managing Director (Head of Global Sales and Origination) of Singapore Exchange (SGX) and Chairman of SGX Bull Charge, and has leveraged his extensive network in the financial industry to connect listed companies and high net worth individuals with Community Chest. His role as Chairman of Caregiver Alliance Limited and association with grassroots organisations has also enabled him to rally the private, public and people sectors to contribute strategically to social services.

Community Chest would also like to extend our deepest appreciation to outgoing Chairman Mr Phillip Tan for his dedication to the social service sector. Under his leadership, Community Chest has strengthened partnerships across the people-public-private sectors to cultivate holistic philanthropic giving in Singapore. In 2022, he was recognised with the Outstanding Lifetime Volunteer Award at the MSF Volunteer & Partner Awards, presented to individuals or organisations who have consistently partnered with MSF over 30 or more years to better the lives of others. He remains as Advisor to Community Chest.
