Youth Day Appeal 2021

Enable Fizzy achieve her aspirations

Meet Fizzy!

At the age of 10, Fizzy was diagnosed with mild intellectual disability, and displayed significant difficulties in receptive, expressive, and written communication. Over the years, she has completed her primary and secondary education and blossomed into a talented young lady, full of aspirations and dreams for her future.

Currently, Fizzy is pursuing her post-secondary education at APSN Delta Senior School and is doing well in bot academic and non-academic areas. She is also a talented musician in the Angklung Ensemble where she learned to play traditional Malay tunes and modern contemporary pop music. She was the proud recipient of the Lee Kuan Yew Exemplary Student Award in 2020.

With the support of Community Chest in SPED Financial Assistance Scheme, Fizzy could attend classes and received daily meals in school.

Youth Day Appeal

Youth Day Appeal (YDA) is an annual nationwide fundraising campaign by Community Chest which rallies students from secondary schools and junior colleges to donate and help the less fortunate in the community.

In line with MOE's Values-in-Action Programme, YDA seeks to instil values such as respect, care and harmony among students, while providing them an avenue to put such values into actions, where we build the next generation of givers who see beyond the disabilities of our social service users. Through this campaign, we hope that students can play a part in making an impact within the community to build a caring and inclusive society.

100% of the donations raised in the appeal will go towards empowering the lives of our social service users, such as Fizzy, from more than 80 social service agencies supported by Community Chest.
