Christmas on A Great Street Community Chest Light-Up Ceremony 2023
In partnership with SG Cares Giving Week and co-organised with Orchard Road Business Association, we invite the community to participate in Christmas on A Great Street Community Chest Light-Up Ceremony 2023.
This celebration promises to be a showcase of holiday splendour, emblematic of our commitment to fostering a spirit of goodwill and communal unity. Immerse yourself in the holiday spirit as Orchard Road lights up with a mesmerising display of Christmas lights on 16 November.
In the spirit of year-end giving, you can make a difference in the lives of those in need, as 100% of your donations will support more than 200 critical social service programs.
These programs empower children with special needs and youth-at-risk, support adults with disabilities, assist persons with mental health conditions, and provide aid to seniors and families in need. Featured Performances
Join us from 8.30pm at SHAW House for delightful surprises and giveaways from the beloved Aunty Susan, portrayed by social media influencer, Annette Lee.
The evening will also be filled with extraordinary performances featuring Signifique, a unique group that combines singing and sign language, uniting both hearing and deaf artists.
To keep the rhythm alive, the Brazilian Percussion Team from ITE College Central will set the stage ablaze with their vibrant beats. Mark your calendars for a magical night of lights, laughter, and unforgettable moments.
Annette Lee
Annette Lee is a Singaporean filmmaker, actor, and singer-songwriter. She is best known for her videos that she creates on social media, where she consistently connects with more than 2 million people monthly. A storyteller at heart, Annette sees her work in film, comedy and music as ways of telling tales that can touch lives.
Extra•Ordinary Light Orchestra
From The Extra•Ordinary Campus, this group of 7 musicians were formed in August 2023 as part of the performing arts programme where musical talents are honed towards purposeful vocational pathways. Extra•Ordinary People holistically supports persons with special needs while striving for an inclusive society through family centred and community-supported initiatives.
ITE Brazilian Percussion Team
The ITE Brazilian Percussion team consists of members from ITE College West’s Oeste (pronounced as ‘West’) Percussive Movement and ITE Central’s Batidas Centro. The performers will be bringing to you an energetic samba so feel free to get on your feet and move with the groove!
Signifique
Signifique is a Song Signing Group, consists of both deaf and hearing volunteers from The Singapore Association for the Deaf (SADeaf). The group has performed at various events since 2008. It was officially established under SADeaf in May 2009.
Signifique hopes to showcase the beauty and versatility of sign language through song-signing, and to create interest among the public to learn about Deaf Culture and sign language, raising deaf awareness.
