Community Chest Awards 2023

The annual Community Chest Awards (CCA) honours organisations and individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the social service sector by caring for the individuals in need within our community. The event is held at The Istana, attended by the President of the Republic of Singapore, and hosted by the Minister for Social and Family Development.

This year, Community Chest celebrates its 40th anniversary. To commemorate this occasion, we are bringing a special edition of CCA. The event will celebrate organisations and individuals who have demonstrated their commitment to empower communities in need through generous donations, fundraising activities and supporting Community Chest's work, as well as recognise long term donors. We seek to inspire and encourage more partners to continue supporting our social service users and sustainably build upon our partnerships to make giving a way of living.

As 2023 is also the Year of Celebrating Social Service Partners, Community Chest has been partnering with the Ministry of Social and Family Development to recognise and affirm our partners, such as social service practitioners and agencies, corporates and social enterprises, volunteers and donors, as well as academics and educators to build a caring and inclusive society for all.

Duet by Strawberry Story

Born prematurely and blind since birth, Wai Yee is a content writer, sportswoman and environmentalist. She is part of SG Food Resue, a group that collects unwanted food items from grocery stores, then sorts and shares vegetables that can still be eaten to reduce food wastage. She went into the working world after secondary school to support herself and her family as her father had kidney problems. Some of the difficulties she faced were learning how to be more confident and how to interact with others. She wanted to live her life and be who she is, contributing to society.

Ivni has been a musician since year 1998, as a guitarist performing gigs with various bands. Released an E.P. in 1999 with a band called Helm’s Key, playing their own heavy metal originals.
