ICA has adopted Rainbow Centre Margaret Drive School as our community service beneficiary for FY2021. Over the years, we propagate the spirit of giving through our annual community service project and fundraising efforts. We hope our efforts could make a positive difference to the lives of our beneficiaries. This fund-raising campaign is set up to raise ICA officers’ awareness and rekindle the ‘kampung spirit’ amongst our officers to support the programmes run by Rainbow Centre Margaret Drive School.
Rainbow Centre Margaret Drive School provides specialised educational programmes for students aged 7-18 years, with multiple disabilities and autism, which may include a combination of intellectual, sensory and physical disabilities. The programmes seek to develop the potential of students and help them to be independent, self-supporting and contributing members of society. Classes which focused on areas such as daily living, social and emotional learning, as well as communication and vocational development, are taught by special education teachers with the support of therapists and psychologists.
Through this fund-raising campaign, ICA aims to raise a sum of $50,000, to benefit about 380 students at Rainbow Centre Margaret Drive School. Besides providing special education and rehabilitative services for the students, the amount raised will boost various initiatives such as encouraging and supporting the formation of the Parents Support Group to help new parents of students with special needs, promoting public education and awareness of special needs students with intellectual disabilities, multiple disabilities and autism and conducting research into the causes and intervention of the various learning special needs.
Your donation will go a long way to empower the students to pick up important social and life skills, and help to create a more inclusive society.
